David prays for preservation from his persecutors. 143. A Psalm of David. David prays for favor in judgment—He meditates on the Lord’s works and trusts in him. 144. David’s Psalm of praise. David blesses the Lord for deliverance and temporal prosperity—Happy is that people whose God is the Lord. 145. David proclaims the greatness and majesty of God—The Lord is good to all—His kingdom is an everlasting kingdom—He is near to all who call upon him, and he preserves those who love him. 146. Happy are they whose hope is in the Lord—The Lord frees the prisoners, loves the righteous, and reigns forever.
